ABERDEEN – The Aberdeen Update newsletter and the 2007 Anniversary Calendar both received a Special Recognition Award at the 46th annual Municipal Public Information Contest held in December.
The newsletter and the calendar were a collaborative effort between Township Manager Stuart Brown, Parness and Associates Public Relations of Aberdeen, Leckner Design of Matawan, and The Print Shoppe of Aberdeen.
“These projects dovetailed with a comprehensive redesign of the township’sWeb site in 2006, as we moved to upgrade the township’s communications tools,” explained Brown. During their presentation, the contest’s co-sponsors called the newsletter and the calendar “outstanding components of the municipality’s overall public information program. These efforts are indicative of a jurisdiction that values the involvement of the members of the community in the process of governance.”
The contest is statewide and is co-sponsored by the Center for Government Services at Rutgers University, the New Jersey Municipal Management Association, and the New Jersey State League of Municipalities.
