Acoustic guitars sought for Ugandan children

Adrive for acoustic guitars for the children at Mbiriizi Primary School, Uganda, has been launched by the nonprofit Sylvia’s Children, Holmdel.

The nonprofit’s founder, Sylvia Allen, visited the school in 2007 with her children, Tony and Michele, and other volunteers. Tony taught the children with music lessons.

The nonprofit hopes to be able to supply the school with additional guitars so more of the children can learn to play. Sylvia’s Children was founded in 2004 after Allen visited Uganda and witnessed the ravages the AIDS pandemic had on the community.
