Over 50 young people will present “Faith, Hope, Love”
The Hopewell Valley Youth Chorale, under the direction of Michele and William Alford, will hold their Winter Concert on Jan. 27 at 4 p.m. in the Unitarian Universalist Church at Washington Crossing, located on Pennington-Washington Crossing Road, Titusville.
Over 50 young people, 8-15, will present “Faith, Hope, Love,” a multicultural musical celebration of many faith traditions, love, and children.
Music from the folk traditions of Kenya, Palestine, Spain, Eastern Europe, African American spiritual, contemporary United States, Western Europe, Stevie Wonder and the American popular song will be performed.
Guest performers include percussionists, Sebastian Guerrero and Dan Johnson; violinist, Nancy Ronquist; oboist, Amy Parker; cellist, Janet Mills; and pianist, Donald Dolan.
Two choirs will be featured: the Preparatory Choir (grades three-five) and the Concert Choir (grades six-nine). These auditioned ensembles began rehearsals in September and rehearse weekly at The Pennington School.
The chorale provides boys and girls in the Mercer County region the opportunity to explore, prepare and perform choral music in an effort to better the world around them.
Tickets are $20 at the door. Special patron seating is available for a $25 donation per seat. For tickets or for more information about joining chorale, e-mail [email protected] or call 651-5474.
