I wanted to disclose the following note we recently received because I believed it was worth sharing. I hope you do also.
”Hello! I drive up and down Route 1 through South Brunswick and Monmouth Junction every day on my commute to work. I hate my commute. Driving Route 1 sucks. But I always smile when I pass your place — whether it’s the Christmas tree with its gazillion lights or the Tin Man. It always cheers me up. So I just wanted to say ‘Thanks’ for taking the time to do what you do. People notice, and they appreciate it.
”Warm regards, Debbie C.”
I am not sure we’re always aware of or take the time to remember that the nice things we do sometimes have a profound effect on others. I know that there are probably a number of times that my wife Debbie and her secretary, Diane Palumbo, sit perched on top of that 60-foot articulated lift on one of their 10-hour days, fighting the wind and the cold saying to each other, “What the heck are we doing here?” Then they receive a note like this and they remember.
As for me, well, where would I ever get the opportunity, for a relatively small amount of money, to touch a million lives in such a positive manner?
I want to thank you Debbie C. for your very much appreciated, heartfelt note and to my wife Debbie and to Diane for their sincere dedication and personal sacrifice in contributing to the quality of life in our community.
