EVENTS
   Blood pressure screening: Free blood pressure screenings are provided on the second Tuesday of every month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. First-come, first-served basis.
   Victory at Sea: Documentary about the Navy in World War II. First and fourth Mondays of the month from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
   Healthy living: Doctor-led discussion about options for leading a healthy life. Tuesday, Jan. 18 at 1:30 p.m. Please register in advance.
   Tap your energy: Learn about energy healing such as Reiki, Chi Kung and Tong Ren, as well as tapping into your own energy to improve your immune system. Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 1:30 p.m. Please register in advance.
   Roaring 90s: Invite-only social gathering for anyone 90 years or older. Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m. Mingling, munching and fun. For more information, call Bonnie Leibowitz at the senior center.
   Secret Life of the Brain: Uncover the facts and mysteries of the various stages of development and functions of the brain during this five-part PBS video series. Begins with “The Baby’s Brain: Wider Than the Sky” on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 1:30 p.m. and “The Child’s Brain: Syllable from Sound” on Thursday, Jan. 31. Series continues through February. Please register for each date separately.
   Presidential series: On Friday, Jan. 25, discuss how Presidents Washington, W. H. Harrison, Grant and Eisenhower were national heroes before they were sworn into office. Call the senior center to register for each date separately.
   Beat the Winter Blahs Health Fair: Appointment-only free health screenings, helpful information and lifestyle assessments, courtesy of Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. Monday, Jan. 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Limited appointments are available for each screening, so register in advance.
   Overview of Balzac: Author Ed Golda shares his experiences and provides an overview of his book “Honore – De Balzac and the dedicatees and La Comedie Humaine.” Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 1:30 p.m. Register in advance.
CLASSES
   Fitness video club: Monroe Township Office on Aging will hold half-hour aerobic workouts. Mondays and Thursdays, 8:45 a.m. First-come, first-to-exercise basis.
   Bridge classes: Beginner classes and intermediate classes available. Monroe Township Senior Center, 9:30 a.m. to noon. Call to register.
GROUPS AND CLUBS
   Parkinson’s Support Group: Meets at the Monroe Township Senior Center on the first Wednesday of every month at 1 p.m. For more information, call 732-521-6111.
   Chess Mates: Meets at the Monroe Township Senior Center on Tuesdays at 2 p.m. For more information, call 732-521-6111.
   Not just the blues: Monthly support group that will focus on anxiety and depression. 11 a.m. Monroe Township Senior Center. Call 732-521-6111 for more information.
   Houseplant Lovers Unite: Join the Monroe Township Senior Center’s Green Thumbs to discuss a love of plants and other horticultural topics. Second Wednesday of every month, 11 a.m. Call 732-521-6111 for more information.

   The Jamesburg Senior Citizens’ meet at 139 Stevens Ave., Jamesburg. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m. All Jamesburg residents older than 60 years are welcome to join.
