The January 25 edition of The Princeton Packet carried a front- page story headlined “Sex Assault in Hun School.” The subhead read “Undocumented Worker arrested.” The news story was written as a detailed history of the so-called perpetrator’s immigration situation in seeming evidence of his guilt, instead of presenting an initial fair, factual report of the alleged assault that has not yet been proved.
The immigration background of a person should have no bearing on whether or not that person has committed a crime.
