The State Theatre, 15 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick, will present the second annual “Hub City Carnivale,” Feb. 1-24.
A Mardi Gras party will be Feb. 2 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Crossroads Theatre, followed by a concert by Buckwheat Zydeco at 8 p.m. Carnivale highlights also include Trinity Irish Dance Company Feb. 8, and performances by the dance group Diavolo Feb. 15 and 16. Comedian Bill Cosby will perform Feb. 24.
Family Day will be held on President’s Day, Feb. 18 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. with both free and paid activities at the State Theatre, George Street Playhouse, and Crossroads Theatre, New Brunswick. Featured will be performances of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and American Repertory Ballet, as well as activities, a theater improvisation workshop and other workshops.
