Lambertville
Joyce Devlin of Ewing was charged with drunken driving Jan. 19.
Police stopped Ms. Devlin on Route 29 for speeding at 1:45 a.m.
She also was charged with reckless driving, careless driving and speeding and released without bail.
Two Lambertville men were charged with hindering after being stopped Jan. 21.
Police stopped a vehicle driven by Francisco Sanchez on North Union Street at 11 a.m. because the vehicle’s registration was suspended for not having insurance coverage, police said.
Mr. Sanchez allegedly supplied a false name because his license was not valid, and he had failed to appear on previous charges, police said.
The passenger, Abraham Hernandez, identified himself as Mr. Sanchez’s roommate and attempted to verify MR. Sanchez’s false identity, police said.
Mr. Sanchez also was charged with driving while suspended, being an unlicensed driver and for having suspended touring privileges.
Both were released without bail.
Kerry Goodwin, of Lambertville was arrested on a warrant Jan. 21.
Police stopped Ms. Goodwin on Route 29 near police headquarters after a check revealed her license was expired, and there was a warrant for her arrest for failure to appear on traffic charges.
She posted $164 bail for the warrant issued by Hopewell Township.
The Northside Laundromat at 1 Cherry St. reported a door to the maintenance room was kicked in sometime during the night of Jan. 13.
The room contained assorted tools and used to contain money for the washing machines, however, the money was removed from the area due to past burglary attempts.
Nothing was reported taken, but repairs have to be made to fix the damage, police said.
Friday at 2:25 a.m., Elaine E. Kline, 20, of Lambertville was charged with drunken driving after being stopped on South Union Street for an expired vehicle registration.
Ms. Kline also was charged with underage drunken driving, having an expired registration, reckless driving, having an unclear license plate, failure to exhibit registration and a non-resident driving privilege.
She also was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance marijuana and possession of a prescription pill not prescribed to her.
Ms. Kline was released without bail.
Saturday at 2:20 a.m., Luis Beltrand Delcid-Benitez of Lambertville was charged with drunken driving after being stopped on George Street for an improper U-turn.
Mr. Benitez also was charged with reckless driving, making an improper U-turn, having a suspended drivers license and being an unlicensed driver.
He was released without bail.
Sunday at 1:33 a.m., James M. Zangli of Kintnersville, Pa., was charged with drunken driving after being stopped on Route 29 for failure to keep right.
Mr. Zangli also was charged with careless driving and failure to keep right.
He was released without bail.
New Hope
Dec. 30 at 1:39 a.m., two 17-year-olds, one 16-year-old and one 15-year-old, all from New Jersey, were charged with underage drinking as a result of an incident at a West Bridge Street establishment.
West Amwell
Jan. 16 at 8:45a,m, police went to the Educational Services Commission School on Route 179 on a report that a faculty member was assaulted.
The faculty member reported a student became aggressive and physically shoved her, twice, away from a classroom door. She was uninjured.
A 14-year-old Trenton male was charged with aggravated assault and released to a parent.
Jan. 17 at 6:18 p.m., there was a one-vehicle accident on Brunswick Pike near Rock Road.
Darius Mazur of Hamilton was going east when a vehicle in front of him suddenly applied brakes. Due to a snow-covered slippery road, his vehicle slid across the westbound lane and hit an embankment.
No injuries were reported, and no summonses were issued.
Jan. 17 at 6:22 p.m., there was a one-vehicle accident on Brunswick Pike at Corsalo Road.
Lucas Henderson of West Amwell was going west when he tried to make a right turn on Corsalo Road. Due to a snow-covered road, his vehicle slid off the road into a drainage ditch.
The vehicle was removed by a towing service and driven away.
There were no injuries reported and no summonses issued.
Jan. 18 at 9:30 a.m., police went to the Educational Services Commission School on Route 179 on a report of a student out of control and violent.
After a bringing the situation under control, it was determined the student was out of control after being confronted by the staff for allegedly threatening to kill a 17-year-old female student from Trenton.
Johnny Bridges Jr. of Trenton was charged with making terroristic threats and released on $10,000 bail.
Jan. 20 at 5:48 p.m., Albert Schweizer of Levittown, Pa., was charged with drunken driving after being stopped on Route 29 for driving erratically.
Mr. Schweizer was released without bail.
Jan. 22, police began an investigation into the theft of copper ground bars at the Verizon cellular tower on Route 31.
The copper bars were taken between Jan. 16 and 22 and had a value of $200.
The facility is shared with Sprint and Singular.
Numerous cables were cut to remove the ground bars causing an estimated $9,000 in damage.
