Igrew up in South River and moved many years ago. As time marched on, my family and friends have moved or died.
It has always been my tradition to make sure that a grave blanket was put on my parents’ and brother’s grave by the Thanksgiving holiday. This year I had been sick and was not able to make my usual trek to the grave to pay my respects until after Christmas.
It was a rainy, dreary day as my family and I pulled up to the grave, but as I turned to look at the stone, I saw a beautiful grave blanket placed on my parents’ and brother’s grave. A weight had been lifted off me, and peace surrounded us as we prayed.
I just wanted to thank the person who thought enough of my family members to place a blanket on their grave. Please know that your act of kindness is appreciated and that my memories of growing up in a small town are not just memories but true connections for life.A
gain, I thank you.
