On Jan. 25 and 26, we served almost 200 delicious gourmet dinners to some of our church members, friends from our local community and friends from surrounding churches.
There were a variety of local food establishments and individuals that generously donated the delicious food that was served. There were waiters, servers and kitchen helpers and even a chef who expertly prepared all the meals.
Our local Boy and Girl Scouts served as waiters, waitresses and bus boys.
We were entertained by beautiful music from the string quartet, The Gourgaud Gallery Group, and listened to the relaxing voices of a cappella barbershop quartet, Chain Reaction.
On Friday, we were entertained by the Quintessential Brass Band. Fellowship Hall (Presbyterian Church) was decorated and when you walked in you felt like you were in an exquisite restaurant. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed a fabulous meal together.
We wanted to acknowledge our appreciation to everyone that came to enjoy the delicious dinner and to all those that were unable to attend, but made so many generous donations toward this worthwhile mission.
If you have any regrets about missing out on this wonderful dinner, hope you can hold off until next year. We raised more than $7,000 for this year’s trip and everyone is looking forward to doing it again next year.
It was so wonderful that our community came together and donated their time and talents for the less fortunate people of Guatemala.
