The Princeton-based Coalition for Peace Action is planning a “human marquee” in Palmer Square today, Wednesday, to mark the death of the 4,000th U.S. soldier in Iraq.
The coalition is collaborating with the Peace and Social and Concerns Committee of the Princeton Friends Meeting to hold the event from 5 to 5:30 p.m. at Palmer Square.
The human marquee consists of 14 separate signs that spell out “Five Years of War” on one side, and “How Many More” on the other. Those willing to help hold the 14 signs are asked to arrive about 4:45 p.m. and ask for the coordinator of the project, Carol Kiger Allen.
The event precedes Silent Prayers for Peace from 5:30 to 6 p.m., a Princeton Friends Meeting observance held every Wednesday since August, 2006 in Palmer Square.
