FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP – After another year of fundraising, the CentraState AssociatedAuxiliaries held its annual dinner on Feb. 7 at the Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus auditorium. More than 120 auxilians, including thrift shop volunteers, gathered to present the fruits of their labors to the administrators of CentraState Medical Center. The combined efforts of the five auxiliaries and the thrift shop on Jackson Street in Freehold Borough donated $77,613.33.
A pledge of $250,000 was made by the auxiliaries in 2006 for the Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus. With the completion of the 2007 fundraising year, the auxiliaries have contributed $100,000 toward that pledge, according to a press release.
The auxiliaries held a holiday gala in December to honor Dr. Benjamin Weinstein and to benefit the Bio-Ethics Educational Program at CentraState.Weinstein was presented a certificate in the amount of $34,601.35 as a result of this event.
The auxiliaries provide $500 scholarships to high school seniors and adults who are returning to school pursuing a career in health care and who volunteer in their community.
The CentraState Associated Auxiliaries are located in the following areas: the Covered Bridge adult community in Manalapan, Freehold Borough, Freehold Township, Manalapan-Englishtown- Marlboro, Millstone Township, and The Villages adult community in Howell.
According to the press release, the associated auxiliaries are looking to grow and have more fun. Retirees, present or former employees of CentraState, young business people, young middle or mature people in areas such as Howell-Farmingdale, Colts Neck, Jackson, New Egypt, Plumsted and Monroe Township are all welcome to join the family of supporters.
On March 29-30 in the Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus conference center and auditorium, the associated auxiliaries will host a Spring Boutique with upscale vendors, each one featuring a unique variety of merchandise. Photo ID cards will be provided by the Monmouth County Sheriff ‘s Office for children and for adults over 50, as well as handicap IDs for any age group. Admission is free.
