The proceeds from Casino Night, along with additional fundraiser money raised throughout the year, will benefit education in two ways.

The Howell Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation, chaired by George Krebs, president of Shore Business Solutions, will use its money toward its yearly endeavor to provide four graduating seniors with educational scholarships. Two of the scholarships are open to the public (students must reside in Howell or Farmingdale), and two are for students who are children of Howell Chamber of Commerce members or their employees. The Howell Township Education Foundation, chaired by Dr.Anthony Novembre, will apply its portion of the night’s proceeds toward its competitive teacher grant process, which hopes, over the course of this year, to raise a total of $10,000 to $15,000 for grants. Teachers throughout Howell’s K-8 school district can apply each year for grants which provide extra money to accomplish educational goals that the budget and school funding cannot cover.

In May or June about 10 applying teachers will be chosen, based on their applications, to receive $1,000 grants to be used in the 2008-09 school year. Details: www.howelltownship educationfoundation. org.
