The township will begin a road resurfacing project in the Brunswick Acres section of Kendall Park this summer.
The town contracted with the Lucas Brothers, Inc., of Morganville, for $35,539.52, according to Public Affairs Coordinator Ron Schmalz.
The project will include sewer line replacement, re-curbing and road re-paving, according to Public Works Director Ray Olsen.
Mayor Frank Gambatese said he expected the project to go on throughout the summer, but did not know when it would be completed.
Mr. Olsen said that the township does some of its road repaving work in-house, but contracts out other projects. This year the township also will repave sections of Rowland, Fresh Ponds, and Culver roads on its own, as well as the parking lots of the Kingston, Kendall Park and Monmouth Junction first aid stations.
In addition, the town will repave the sections of Raymond, Miller and Melrich roads that it had planned to repave in 2007, but could not complete before the weather turned inclement, Mr. Olsen said.
Mr. Olsen that said he expected the work would begin on these projects no later than the beginning of June.
