The East Brunswick School District is offering an inclusive General-Education Preschool program for the 2008-09 school year.
The program, which is free of charge and open to 3- and 4-year old children who live in East Brunswick, will follow the New Jersey State Department of Education’s Preschool Teaching and Learning Expectations: Standards of Quality. Typically developing and special-needs preschool children recommended by child-study teams will be included in the program.
Classes will be taught by certified teachers and supported with paraprofessional aides. The program will follow the 10-month school calendar and will run five days per week for 2 1.2 hours each day. Both morning and afternoon sessions are available.
Individuals who are interested in having their child participate in the program and who can provide their own transportation, should submit a letter stating their interest along with their child’s name, birth date and address to Jo-Ellen Basaman, Assistant Superintendent of Student Activities/Services, 760 Route 18, East Brunswick, NJ 08816.
If the number of applicants exceeds the openings, a lottery drawing will take place on June 13. Parents will be notified of openings and acceptance status.
