African dinner, concert slated at S.B. church

St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 142 Sand Hill Road, South Brunswick, will hold the fifth annual African dinner and African crafts auction May 17 at 6 p.m.

The food will be prepared by African members of the congregation, and proceeds benefit the church’s work to reduce alcoholism and the spread of HIV/AIDS in Kenya. There will also be a report on last summer’s healing mission trip to Kenya. Admission is $15, $10 for youth, and $5 for children age 12 and younger.

The choirs of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church and Christ the King Lutheran Church will sing Antonio Vivaldi’s “Gloria,” June 1 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Barnabas. Afree-will offering will be collected to benefit the music programs of the two churches.
