Gizella Lowande died Monday, May 5, at her daughter’s home in Franklin Park.
Ms. Lowande was born in New Brunswick and raised in North Brunswick before returning to New Brunswick where she raised her family. She later lived in Dayton for two years before moving to Franklin Park in 2001. She devoted her life to her family and especially loved spending time and caring for her grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was gardening.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John A. of Franklin Park; her daughter, Gail D. Lowande of Franklin Park; two sons, Gary J. and his wife, Diane, of Dayton and Gregory M. and his wife, Marlene M., of Jamesburg; four sisters, Margaret Szabo and fiancée David Bors of Edison, Ethel Muslin and her husband, Steve, of McMinville, Ore., Elizabeth Vetter of Monroe and Anna Wilkins of Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren, Jessica L., Laura L., Tristan J., Travis J. and Michael J.; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Friday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe. Followed by entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today (Thursday), at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
