The Monroe Township High School girls JV lacrosse team won twice last week.
On Thursday, Jenny Garavente scored four goals in the Falcons 7-2 win over Allentown. Danielle Klecha had a goal and assist, Sultane and Teuta Cosaj each had a goal and Ali Deitche had two assists. Savannah Nunn, Kim Lupo and Rachel Brustowicz played well on the attack. Sarah Nale, Erin Janzekovich, Tricia Powell and Danielle McDonald had a strong defensive game for Monroe, only allowing 12 shots on goalie Sam Capers (eight saves).
On Saturday, Monroe beat South Plainfield 15-2 as goalie Rosa Buffolino played well and Jenna Saunders Elise Segally, the Cosaj sisters, Powell, Janzekovich,and Nale shut down South Plainfield’s attack. Offensively, Garavente had five goals and an assist, Nunn had two goals and three assists, and Deitche, Klecha and Christi Jordan had two goals each. Elaina Hansen had a goal and assist and Courtny Cuilla had a goal. Rachel Brustowicz and Amanda Fritz had assists.
