Mr. Straniero, 86, of Morganville, and formerly of Hazlet and Aberdeen, died May 1, 2008, at home. A veteran of the U.S. Army and National Guard during World War II and Korea,Mr. Straniero was the owner/operator of Buddy’s Barber Shop in Hazlet, and an employee of the Hazlet Board of Education for many years before retiring in 1991. He was predeceased by four brothers, Nick, John, Charles and Anthony Straniero. Surviving are his wife, Frances; two sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Deborah Straniero of Jackson and John and Mary Straniero of Aberdeen; a brother, Salvatore Straniero of Vero Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Florence Garaffa and Mary Frost, both of Hazlet; and four grandchildren.A funeral service was held at Day Funeral Home, Keyport, followed by entombment at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Keyport.
