Mr. Anton, 75, of Manalapan, died May 10, 2008, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Anton was treasurer of the Independent Insurance Agents ofAmerica, NewYork City, for 20 years and was later treasurer of the American Heart Association, Edison. He was the owner and operator of Superior Lawns, Manalapan. Mr. Anton was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine E.Anton, and a brother, George Antonowicz, of Ewing. Surviving are three sons, John Anton, Mark Anton and his wife, Linda, all of Houston, and Robert Anton and his wife,Ann, of Freehold Township; two daughters, Sharen Farrar, Beachwood, and Karen Kraft and her husband, Bill, of Houston; and eight grandchildren. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold, followed by interment at old Tennent Cemetery Tennent.Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements were by the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold.
