EDISON – Edison police are searching for information about a purse snatching that occurred on Talmadge Road at about 3 p.m. May 21.
According to Sgt. Robert Dudash, Edison police public information officer, a woman was walking north on Talmadge Road near Sutton Place, when a man began to approach her.
When the man got close enough he snatched her black leather bag and ran off in the direction he had come from. The bag contained some medications, $20 cash and miscellaneous personal items. The woman, who is 55 years old, was uninjured in the incident, police said.
The woman described the man as being Hispanic, between 20 and 28 years old, with an olive complexion, wearing a red baseball cap, a jacket and black pants. He was said to be about 5- feet, 8-inches tall, with a thin build.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Edison Police Department at 732-248-7400. The matter is under investigation.
