Mr. Nicholson, 84, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge, died May 24, 2008, at RiverviewMedical Center, Red Bank. He was a retired truck driver with Teamsters Local 469, Hazlet, and a ready-mix driver at Colonial Sand and Stone Co. for 14 years. Following retirement, Mr. Nicholson was a custodian for the Matawan Board of Education for 10 years. He was a former deputy chief and 54-year member of Cliffwood Volunteer Fire Company No. 1. He is survived by his wife, Ann Mose Nicholson; a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Patricia of Clarksburg; a daughter, Patricia Orlando of Oceanport; and four grandchildren. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, N.Y. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Memorial donations may be made to NJ Firemen’s Home, 565 Lathrop Ave., Boonton, NJ 07005.
