EATONTOWN – The Monmouth County SPCA is scheduled to host “Chain-Off 2008” at its Wall Street location 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 28.
The SPCA will be joining groups across the country to protest the “needless and cruel” treatment of dogs in the community who are helplessly chained to the outdoors, according to a press release from the SPCA.
Monmouth County SPCA Executive Director Ursula Goetz and Monmouth County SPCA Humane Law Enforcement Chief Victor “Buddy” Amato, along with volunteers, will chain themselves to doghouses on the front lawn at the SPCA.
The event is aimed to bring attention to the plight of chained dogs in the community, according to the release.
