John “Jack” Walsh

Mr. Walsh, 85, of Manalapan, died May 19, 2008, at CareOne at East Brunswick. He was a sales manager for McGraw-Hill and Prentice Hall Publications in White Plains, N.Y. Mr. Walsh was ordained a permanent deacon of the Trenton Diocese in 1980. Prior to his retirement he ran the preparation classes for baptism and marriage at St. Thomas More Church in Manalapan. Mr.Walsh was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Ann, in 2002. He is survived by nine children, Michael of Old Bridge, Susan of Maplewood, Daniel of Englishtown, Kathy of East Brunswick, Eileen Gallagher of Glenmont, N.Y., Maureen of Bordman, Ohio, Mary of Kendall Park, Barbara Killian of Reading, Mass., and Jane Bowman of Canton, Mass.; a brother, William of Montclair; a sister, Carol Fay, of Livingston; and 18 grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Thomas More Church, Manalapan, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Freehold. Arrangements were under the direction of the Freeman Funeral Home,Manalapan.Memorial donations may be made to St. Thomas More Church.
