RED BANK – The First Presbyterian Church at Red Bank will present The Calvin and Chapel Ringers in concert on June 8 at 7 p.m.
The ringers consist of local eighthto twelfth-graders from Little Silver, Sea Bright, Tinton Falls, Middletown, Oceanport, Holmdel, Fair Haven and Rumson.
They will present a varied program of original compositions for handbells as well as arrangements of classical music and familiar hymns.
These two groups are under the direction of the church Director of Music Charles Harris.
The concert will precede the group’s summer tour to New York and parts of Canada.
They will ring on two five-octave sets of handbells and four octaves of choir chimes.
A free-will offering will be taken during the concert to help defray the cost of the tour.
An old-fashioned ice cream social will follow the concert. For a minimum suggested donation of $3, concertgoers make their own sundae with a variety of toppings and meet the ringers.
