Mark Bendon, 77, died May 29, 2008. He lived in the town of Matawan
for over 30 years, before making his permanent residence in Atlantic
Highlands. He was a retired school teacher and served in the Marine Corp. and the Korean War. He was very active with the sailing community. He was a member of the Keyport Yacht Club and served the offical position of
measurer for a number of years. Sailing was his passion and he sailed from New Jersey to Florida many times. He was also an advid golfer.
Mr. Bendon was preceded in death by his mother, Antoinette Bendon and his father, Mark Bendon. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Bendon, his brother Robert Bendon and wife Ann Bendon, his children, daughter Laureen Dunne, sons, Mark C. Bendon, Jr., Russell Bendon, Ronald Bendon, and daughter Sandra Bendon. Funeral arrangements were by Affordable Cremations, North Fort Myers, Fla. Mr. Bendon was a school teacher for the Matawan school district for over 30 years. He loved outdoor activities such as sailing, golfing, swimming, and bicycling. He died peacefully at his second home in Ft. Myers, Florida.
