Edison Township will host its second annual Summer Concert Series beginning on Flag Day, Saturday, June 14.
The New Jersey Symphonic Band, under the direction of conductor Chris Peterson, starts the summer off with well-known pop and Broadway classics at 7 p.m.
The Grass Roots, a rock band with hits in the ’60s and ’70s, will perform at 7:30 July 4 in honor of Independence Day. “Midnight Confessions,” “Temptation Eyes,” “Sooner or Later,” and “Wait a Million Years” are some of their 13 gold singles. Following the show, at 9 p.m., Garden Sate Fireworks will provide a fireworks display in the skies over Lake Papaianni.
A warm-up act will start things off for both concerts at 5:30 p.m. Food vendors will be on hand for both concerts at 5:30 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged to come early and to bring a blanket or low-backed chair. In the event of rain, the concerts will be held at the Edison High School. For more information, contact the Edison Recreation department at 732-248-7312.
