The Edison Public Library will offer its annual summer reading club for children from preschool age through 11 years old, through Aug. 22. This year’s program, “Catch the Reading Bug,” is sponsored by the Friends of the Edison Public Library and Staples.
• Registration will begin June 16 for “Family Time: Butterfly Flutter with Rick Makula.” This program is open to children in preschool through grade six and their families. Rick Makula, owner of Hole-in- Hand Butterfly Farm, Hazleton, Pa., will introduce the audience to live butterflies. Makula has appeared on Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel. The program will be offered at the EdisonMain Library on June 24 at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.; and the North Edison Branch on June 26 at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
• “Family Time: Let It Glow,” a program about fireflies, is open to children in preschool through grade six and their families, and will be held at 7 p.m. June 12 at theMain Library. Registration is ongoing.
• “Library Lapsit,” a program for children 1 year of age with parent/caregivers, is a half-hour of songs, stories and activities, and will be held at 10:30 a.m. June 18 at the Clara Barton Branch. It is a drop-in program with limited space; attendees should arrive early.
• “Family Times: Wings and Wiggly Things,” a program with stories, film, activities and a craft, will be held at 10:30 a.m. June 20 at the Clara Barton Branch. Registration is under way.
