Bank of America closes branch on Route 206 in Princeton

A branch operated by Bank of America at the corner of Route 206 and Cherry Hill Road in Princeton Township has been closed and its customer base and operations folded into two other nearby bank branches.
”The reason we chose to close this branch was because we have two other branch locations in very close proximity to that branch location,” said Ernesto Anguilla, a Bank of America regional spokesman based in Boston.
Mr. Anguilla said bank customers at the Route 206 branch are able to go to Bank of America’s 90 Nassau St. branch, a little over a mile away, or to it’s branch at 370 Nassau St., which is just over two miles away.
Mr. Anguilla said there were no layoffs involved in the branch closing.
”Our associates of the branch that was closed were all redeployed to other branches,” he said.
Mr. Anguilla said Bank of America leased the Route 206 site and he did not know what the property owner’s plans were for it.
