The Middletown Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department will kick off the 2008 Summer Concert Series 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Normandy Park.
Concerts will take place every other Thursday. In the event of inclement weather, the concerts are moved to Middletown South High School. This summer’s concert series will get under way with a toe-tapping good time presented by The Infernos. The Mahoney Brothers’ “Jukebox Heroes” show will present impersonations of modern musical greats on Thursday, July 10. On Thursday, July 24, Big Shot will offer a tribute to Billy Joel. Bring your “Uptown Girl” to Normandy Park and dance the night away.
The Somers Dream Orchestra will bring its smooth jazz sounds to Middletown on Thursday, Aug. 7.
On Thursday, Aug. 21, The Duprees are set to bring a fantastic close to this annual concert series. All of the concerts in this series are free to the public. Limited on-site parking. For more information, contact the Parks & Recreation Office Monday-Friday at 732-615-2260.
