The sixth annual Garden State Go Red for Women Luncheon held in early May raised a record $472,000 for the American Heart Association. The event was attended by 430 New Jersey women and men, and proceeds benefited the Go Red for Women movement.
Honored with Woman of Distinction Awards were Erica D. Ferry, senior director, public affairs at Schering-Plough Corporation, in the business, industry and health-care category; and Monmouth County resident Mae Boehm, a heart transplant survivor at age 40, in the education, nonprofit, community or civic category.
The Garden State Go Red for Women Girlfriends Network is seeking women to share survivor stories, volunteer for Go Red for Women activities and events or become an active survivor ambassador. For more information, call 609-223-3727.
