Alice A. Lamont, 84, of Freehold, died peacefully Friday, July 11th at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Township surrounded by her loving family. She was born at home in Freehold and graduated from Freehold High School in 1942. Alice worked at Barnes Coat Factory in Freehold until marrying Phillip Lamont in 1957. She moved to Manalapan in 1961 where she lived most of her life before moving back to Freehold in 2004. She was a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Englishtown. Alice was a caring mother, devoted daughter and hard-working wife. She was a selfless, kind compassionate soul who cared deeply about her family and friends. She had an exceptionally strong bond with her sister, two brothers and cousins, Frannie and Helen.
She was predeceased by her husband Phillip in 2003, her cherished brothers, Stanley and Donald Kazlauskis ,also in 2003, and beloved sister, Sophie Layton in 2007. Surviving are a treasured son, Gregory Lamont of Jackson; a heartbroken daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Stan Mozdzen of Manalapan and three endeared grandchildren, Haley and Gregory Lamont and Matthew Mozdzen. She is also survived by her loving cousins, Helen Simkus and Frannie Dorf as well as many nieces and nephews. Alice will always be remembered for her devotion to and love of family. She had a heart of gold and will be missed tremendously.
A visitation was held Sunday, July 13 from 2-5 pm at the Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A funeral liturgy was held Monday, 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church with an interment following at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Freehold Township.
