Marion M. Sinuk

Instructor at Skillman School
    MONTGOMERY — Marion M. Nicola Sinuk died Thursday at home.
   She was a Montgomery resident for 25 years.
   She was a reading instructor, peer counselor and CCD instructor at the New Jersey Skillman School for Boys in Montgomery.
   She was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School, New Brunswick, in 1950 and was the first female sports editor of the school newspaper.
   Later in life, she enrolled at Rutgers University and became a peer counselor and contributing columnist to Nitebeat, a college paper. Her specialty was writing about the experiences of older students.
   She was an avid reader and writer of letters, articles and rhymes.
   She enjoyed tennis running and golf and swam frequently at the YWCA Princeton.
   She participated in Meals on Wheels and the Santa Claus Project. She was a member of the Middle East Society, American Farmland Trust and CNI foundation. She was an avid animal rights activist.
   Sister of the late Lillian N. Kollar and Charles Nicola, she is survived by her husband of 48 years, John Sinuk; sons and daughters-in-law John C. and Bonnie Sinuk and Paul J. and Nelda Sinuk; daughter Linda M. Sinuk; brother George J. Nicola; and grandchildren John Paul and Bonnie Marie.
   A memorial Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, 47 Skillman Road, Montgomery.
   Arrangements are by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.
