Roy W. Cottrell, 95, of Farmingdale, N.J. died Aug. 3, 2008. Mr. Cottrell was born in Hightstown, NJ, was raised and had lived in Spotswood, NJ, before moving to Farmingdale in 1980. He was a former member and elder of the Spotswood Reformed Church. He was also a superintendent of the Sunday School at the church. He was a member of the Pierce Memorial Church, Farmingdale, NJ. He was a member of the Farmingdale Historical Society. Mr. Cottrell loved being with his family and spending time fishing at Seaside, NJ, and camping with the Sundowners Club. He was an IBM Supervisor for National Lead Industries, South Amboy, for 41 years retiring in 1977. He is predeceased by his sister, Myrtle, and a brother, Harvey. Surviving is his wife of 70 Years, Martha (Lewis) Cottrell of Farmingdale, NJ; his 3 daughters & 2 sons-in-law: Lois & Gerhard Cremer of Augusta, GA, Janet & Paul Shelton of Howell, Virginia Conklin of Howell, NJ, 8 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. Service Information: Funeral arrangements were handled by Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Twp., NJ Aug. 5, 2008, A Interment was in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent, NJ.
