Hightstown
Zenon Kaczmarck, 46, of Farrington Drive, East Windsor, was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated with children in the vehicle, endangering the welfare of a child and numerous related charges.
Police said they stopped Mr. Kaczmarck at 8:54 p.m. on Franklin Street after he ran a red light at Maxwell Avenue and Franklin Street. Once stopped, police reported seeing his 4-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old female friend together, unrestrained, in the front seat.
Mr. Kaczmarck also was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, refusal to submit breath samples, failure to observe a traffic signal, reckless driving, careless driving, driving with a suspended license and driving with a child not in a safety seat.
A laptop computer and $5,000 in cash were reported stolen from a car parked in the lot of Hightstown High School on Aug. 21. Police said the victim left his car in the lot overnight while visiting a friend.
Tiahra T. Evans, 23, of Woodbridge, was charged Aug. 21 with contempt of court and hindering apprehension by providing false information. Police said that when they stopped a car for speeding at 11:25 p.m. on North Main Street, Ms. Evans identified herself as Tiffany Evans and gave a false date of birth.
Police said they later learned her true identity and found a number of active warrants in her name: a $1,000 New Brunswick criminal warrant, a $500 Franklin Township criminal warrant, a $350 Edgewater Park traffic warrant, and a $233 Westampton traffic warrant. She was released to New Brunswick police in lieu of bail.
Arturo Hernandez-Lopez, 39, of Maxwell Avenue, was charged Monday with disorderly conduct. Police said they responded to a report of an unconscious man at Hightstown Liquors on Stockton Street at 1:14 p.m. and found Mr. Hernandez-Lopez highly intoxicated and unable to identify himself.
A boulder was damaged and sod dug up on the front lawn of a residence on the 100 block of Reed Street on Tuesday.
East Windsor
Kyle W. Batsch, 27, of Marion Avenue, Levittown, was charged Tuesday with burglary, criminal mischief, and making a false report. Police said they responded to a burglar alarm in an unoccupied home on Fern Drive at 11:30 p.m. and found Mr. Batsch in the driveway.
Police said an investigation revealed he entered his parents’ home by breaking a ground-floor window and then rummaged through several rooms, searching for items to steal. Mr. Batsch also provided investigating officers with false information, police said.
Orlando Yunga, 28, of Windsor Regency Apartments, was charged Monday with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, driving with a suspended license, being an unlicensed driver, and violating a public urination ordinance.
Police said they responded to Town Center Plaza at 6:20 p.m. on a report of a man sleeping in a parked car, and found Mr. Yunga sleeping in the driver’s seat of a running black 1995 Honda Accord. Witnesses also reported Mr. Yunga had previously left the car and urinated in the parking lot, police said.
Ilya Petrenko, 19, of The Orchard Apartments, was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated while under the age of 21 and numerous related offenses. Police said they stopped him at 2:30 a.m. near Routes 130 and 571 after seeing him stop in the intersection while the light was red, as if to make a left turn, and then abruptly re-entering Route 130.
Mr. Petrenko also was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to observe a traffic signal, making an improper turn and making an unsafe lane change.
Melissa Protinick, 22, of Robbinsville, was charged Monday with shoplifting. Police said the manager at ShopRite on Route 130 saw her hide six magazines and a small potted plant and leave the store without paying for them at 11 a.m.
The owner of a black 2001 Ford ZX2 reported the rear window had been smashed with a glass bottle while it was parked on Rocky Brook Road between 11 p.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday.
A woman reported that someone stole her $15 black leather purse, which contained $25 cash, two credit cards, personal identification, and a $30 Rutgers University football ticket, while she was watching a movie at Regal Cinema between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday.
