Cecil W. Kilby Jr.

HAMILTON – Cecil “Sam” W. Kilby Jr., 88, died Friday at Compassionate Care Hospice in Trenton.
    Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident. A U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, Mr. Kilby retired after 33 years as vice president of National State Bank in Trenton. He was a former member of the Lakeside Park Civic Assn., a charter and former member of the Hamilton Rotary and a member of the Sixteen Club of Lakeside Park. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Yardville, the Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085 and the St. Vincent DePaul Senior Citizens.
    Son of the late Cecil W. Sr. and Laura Newcomb Kilby, husband of the late Pearl E. McQuade Kilby, brother of the late Helen Ayres and Irvin Kilby, he is survived by his son and daughter- in-law, Robert D. and Diane Smith Kilby of Bordentown Township; a granddaughter and her husband, Karen Lynne and Timothy Galvin of Yardville; a great-granddaughter, Adeline Cassidy Galvin; two nieces, Bette Ann Brilla of Westborough, Mass., Donna Christman of Clinton; his extended family, Addie Smith of Yardville and the family of Tom and Gail Smith III of Allentown. Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Buklad Yardville Memorial Chapel with the Rev. John Milne, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in North Crosswicks Cemetery in Crosswicks. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sam’s memory may be made to the United Presbyterian Church, 12 Yardville Hamilton Square Road, Yardville, NJ 08620.
