At 9:08 a.m. Aug. 25, a Bank of America manager reported that someone had damaged the front door of the South Main Street building.
The damage was believed to have occurred between Aug. 23 and Aug. 25. Repairs were estimated at $300.
Karen A. Janusz, 41, of West Camplain Road, was charged with driving while intoxicated after being stopped on North Main Street on Aug. 26.
The incident was reported at 1:22 a.m., and Ms. Janusz was released to a friend after processing.
A South Seventh Avenue resident reported at 3:23 p.m. Aug. 26 that an air conditioning unit had been taken from the house’s basement between Aug. 12 and Aug. 26.
Police reported finding no forced entry to the house. The General Electric air conditioner is valued at $400.
Joe Benson, no age given, of Haran Avenue, was issues a summons for illegal dumping at 6:54 p.m. Aug. 26 after police investigated a report from the Somerset County Hazardous Materials Response Teamabout paint poured into storm drains on Dominic Street, police said.
At 7:42 a.m. Aug. 27, a South Bank Street caller reported that two tires on his daughter’s white Mazda 6 had been slashed overnight. The tires are valued at $200.
Luis Carlos Arias Madrigal, 50, no address given, was charged with theft on Aug. 27 after a Kennedy Boulevard resident fought with him on South Main Street, claiming he had taken a bicycle from the residence, police said. Police received the report of the fight at 10:39 a.m. that day.
During processing, Mr. Madrigal was found to have $1,172 in outstanding warrants from Somerville, and was transported to Somerset County Jail in default of $500 bail, police said.
A Huff Avenue resident reported at 7:13 a.m. Aug. 28 that a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire parked at the residence had been keyed during the night. The damage was estimated at $1,000.
At 3;26 p.m. Aug. 28, James Miller, 35, of Bridgewater, was charged with shoplifting at the A&P Grocery store on North Main Street, after he allegedly attempted to return $19.56 worth of items he had not bought.
Mr. Miller was released on $1,000 bail, police said.
A theater-goer at the Reading Cinema on North Main Street reported at 1:08 a.m. Friday that someone had cut the cloth top on his vehicle, and had stolen items valued at $900 from the vehicle while he was at a movie.
John Degiosaffato, 48, of South Fourth Avenue, was charged with trespassing Friday, after a caller from the Emmanuel Baptist Church reported that someone was sleeping behind the South Third Avenue building, police said.
Mr. Degiosaffato was transported to Somerset County Jail in default of $500 bail.
A caller at the Adesa Auto Auction reported at 12:20 p.m. Friday that an audio-video system had been taken from one of the vehicles. The system is valued at $1,200.
Two juveniles, ages 14 and 15, were charged at 10:55 p.m. Friday with violating the borough’s curfew.
Marcos Delgado Endara, 34, of South Bound Brook, was charged with driving while intoxicated at 11:52 p.m. Saturday after he was stopped on Roosevelt Avenue for driving without headlights, police said.
Mr. Endara was released after processing.
Edwin Martinez, 21, of North Main Street, was charged with simple assault and resisting arrest on Sunday, after police reported finding him sleeping in a vehicle on North Main Street at 4:07 a.m. and he refused to get out of the vehicle, police said.
Mr. Martinez was transported to Somerset Medical Center for extreme intoxication before being transported to Somerset County Jail in default of $2,000 bail, police said.
At 8:19 p.m. Sunday, the Sparkle Kleen Car Wash owner reported finding graffiti in one of the car wash bays. The cost to paint over the graffiti was estimated at $50.
A North Second Avenue caller reported at 5:47 p.m. Monday that a BB had shattered the rear window of her vehicle. Repairs were estimated at $500.
