Sayreville Day festivities scheduled for Sept. 14

Sayreville Day, a communitywide event, is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 14 at Kennedy Park, Washington Road, Parlin section of Sayreville. Rain date is Sept. 21.

The opening ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. with an invocation by the Rev. Jack O’Kane of Our Lady of Victories Parish, a color guard and “The Star-Spangled Banner” sung by soloist Maggie Bera.

Activities for children will includes rides, a petting zoo, a horse-drawn carriage ride, pony rides, face painting, cartoon characters and a magician.

The celebration also will feature food merchants offering a variety of foods including ribs, pasta dishes, pizza and more.

Music will be provided by DJ Phil Raimone. The day’s entertainment will include violinist Taylor Bernosky, the Sayreville Main Street Players, Maggie Bera, Patsy Palma and the Rosedale Rock Band.
