Erik J. Crawford, 21, of Vintage Drive, was charged Aug. 29 with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain lane, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. Police said they responded to Oakbranch Road at 2:45 a.m. on a report of a one-car accident, and found that Mr. Crawford tried to leave the scene on foot after disabling his car by hitting a curb.
Donald M. Elkins, 52, of Stockton Street, Hightstown, was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, and failure to maintain lane. Police said they responded at 4 p.m. to a single-car accident on Conover Road, and found a black 2000 Mercedes Benz ML3 had driven from the westbound lane of the road into a ditch, and then traveled back across the roadway and struck a tree on the eastbound shoulder.
Mr. Elkins was treated for abdominal pain at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital at Hamilton. A hospital spokeswoman said he had since been released.
Jesse W. Carter , 26, of John Street, Princeton, was charged Aug. 28 with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain lane and obstructing the flow of traffic. Police said they stopped Mr. Carter on Dutch Neck Road at 2:30 a.m. after seeing him stop beyond the stop line at Hickory Corner Road and Route 130. He waited after the light turned green but eventually turned north onto Route 130, where he weaved from lane to lane, police reported.
Four township teenage boys were charged with trespassing at the Melvin H. Kreps School on Monday, and one of the boys, a 13-year-old from Princeton Arms apartments, also was charged with obstruction of law.
Police said they responded to a burglar alarm at the school at 12:10 p.m. and found the boys in the gym playing basketball. They had entered the school, which was closed and unoccupied, through an unlocked door, police said. One of the boys, a 12-year-old from Princeton Arms, ran out when confronted by police and had to be chased to the parking lot, according to police.
The other two boys were a 13-year-old from Kensington Arms Apartments and a 14-year-old from Princeton Arms. All four boys were turned over to their parents. There was no damage to school property, police said.
Tracy Wilson, 45, of Skillman Avenue, Brooklyn, N.Y., was charged Saturday with disorderly conduct. Police said he appeared intoxicated and was yelling loudly at patrons at the 7-Eleven on Route 130 at 8:20 p.m. He was charged after refusing to lower his voice, police said.
A resident on Pennington Road said their home’s rear sliding glass door was shattered by a brick at 4:05 a.m. Saturday.
Evanston Drive residents returned from vacation to find someone had entered their home and disturbed numerous items between 1:30 p.m. Aug. 24 and 9 p.m. Aug. 29, police said. Nothing was reported stolen and there were no signs of forced entry, police said.
The owner of a red 2009 Toyota Camry reported someone scratched the paint on its driver and passenger-side doors between 7 p.m. Aug. 26 and 7:30 a.m. Aug. 27 in the parking lot of the B building on Abbington Drive, causing an estimated $400 in damage.
Hightstown
Marcia Nivecela, 25, of Rogers Avenue, was charged Aug. 28 with endangering the welfare of a child. Police said they responded to Peddie Lake, behind Theo’s Tavern, at 6:34 p.m. on a report of a lost child. They found a 5-year-old boy who had wandered from his residence on Rogers Avenue, and reunited him with his mother, Ms. Nivecela. Police said she was asleep while his father was working when the child wandered off, police reported.
A borough employee sustained minor injuries Aug. 26 when she fell off a Public Works vehicle that was flipped by a car, police reported.
Lynne Solat was driving a lawn tractor north along the curb of Mercer Street at 11:46 a.m., police said. When an ambulance approached, flashing its lights and sounding its siren, police said a car behind Ms. Solat pulled to the right and struck the tractor’s utility wagon, causing the lawn tractor to jackknife and flip and knocking Ms. Solat off. She sustained injuries to her right foot, police said.
No charges were filed.
Christopher Applegate, 25, of Windsor Commons, Cranbury, was charged Aug. 27 with possession of stolen property and fencing stolen property. Police said Mr. Applegate tried to get a local resident to sell two laptop computers at a yard sale, after he obtained computers stolen in Monroe Township. Police said the resident notified them, prompting the investigation which led them to information about the Monroe incident.
Mr. Applegate was being held Wednesday at the Middlesex County Correction Facility on related charges out of Monroe Township.
Justin A. Kaplan, 26, of Twin Rivers Drive North, East Windsor, was charged Aug. 29 with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, reckless driving, and disregarding a traffic control device. Police said they stopped Mr. Kaplan at 8:50 p.m. for driving through a red light at Main and Franklin streets.
Omar Quizphi-Patino, 28, of Windsor Castle, East Windsor, was charged Aug. 28 with driving while intoxicated and numerous related charges. Police said they stopped Mr. Quizphi-Patino at 9:51 p.m. after seeing him almost strike parked cars on Franklin Street. His blood-alcohol was .18 percent, police reported.
Mr. Quizphi-Patino also was charged with driving while intoxicated in a school zone, driving while suspended, driving while suspended as a result of a DWI conviction, failure to maintain lane, failure to maintain lamps, reckless driving, careless driving, and being an unlicensed driver.
Ruben Hirais Hernandez, 25, of Sicklerville, was charged Aug. 29 with fraud, possession of fraudulent government documents, unlicensed driving, disregarding a traffic signal, being an uninsured motorist, driving an unregistered vehicle, and having a fraudulent license plate.
Police said they stopped Mr. Hernandez at 9:07 p.m. on Franklin Street after seeing him drive through a red light, and found that he had a fraudulent temporary license plate from Pennsylvania, as well as a false Mexican driver’s license and a false Social Security card. He was released on $1,000 bail after posting 10 percent.
Denis Eduardo Gonzalez, 25, of Etra Road, East Windsor, was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, unlicensed driving, violating touring privileges, reckless driving, careless driving and failure to maintain lane.
Police said they stopped Mr. Gonzalez at 12:07 a.m. in the lot of Krauszer’s on Franklin Street after seeing him cross over the fog line. Police said his blood-alcohol level was .21 percent.
Luis Chimborazo, 26, of Liberty Street, Trenton, was charged Saturday with contempt of court. Police said they stopped Mr. Chimborazo on South Main Street at 6:22 p.m. for driving 38 mph in a 25-mph zone, and found several active warrants in his name totaling $3,034.
Olga Santiago, 29, of Perth Amboy, was taken into custody at 7:06 p.m. Aug. 27 on a $343 Perth Amboy traffic warrant. Police said she was taken into custody after court on unrelated matters and later released on bail.
Daniel Gonzalez, 23, of Perth Amboy, was taken into custody at 7:03 p.m. Aug. 27 on a $81 traffic warrant. Police said he was taken into custody after court on unrelated matters and later released on bail.
Police responded to the 100 block of Reed Street on a report of criminal mischief Saturday. Someone threw a rock at a garage door overnight, denting it.
