John T. Lugar
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. Dr. John T. Lugar, 84, of Port St. Lucie, formerly of Lambertville, N.J., and Tenants Harbor, Maine, died Aug. 31 in Port St. Lucie.
He was the husband of Anne Worthington (Kirk) Lugar.
Born in Lambertville, he was a son of the late Dr. Clarence Tucker Lugar and Helen (Labaw) Lugar.
He was a longtime dentist in the Lambertville area and successful real estate broker in the Tenants Harbor area.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, attaining the rank of first lieutenant in the 15th Air Force, the 449th Bomb Group.
He also is survived by three sons, John Q. Lugar and his fiancée, Joyce Dolye, of Florida, F. Kirk Lugar and his wife, Patricia (Blair), of Pennsylvania, and Thomas H. Lugar and his wife, Diane (Pepin), of Maine; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Denise Lugar Scholarship Fund, 41 Manny Way, Red Bank, NJ 07701.
Local arrangements were under the direction of the Garefino Funeral Home in Lambertville.
Anne F. Hutchinson
PENNINGTON Anne F. Hutchinson died Friday at the University Medical Center at Princeton after a brief illness.
Born in Trenton on Jan. 31, 1926, she lived briefly in Brooklyn, N.Y., and Tucsan, Ariz., before moving back to Trenton, where she would live until her marriage to T. Coerte Hutchinson in 1949. They resided in Pennington for 59 years.
She graduated from Cathedral High School in Trenton and then went to Trenton State College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in secondary education.
She taught fifth grade at the Columbus School and the Parkway School in Trenton. After raising her family she went back to teaching at Hopewell Valley Central High School, where she was a substitute teacher for 20 years.
She was a member of the Pennington Presbyterian Church and served on the executive board of the Pennington Women’s Club. She was a volunteer at the Pennington Library for 25 years. An avid reader, she did the New York Times crossword puzzle every Sunday.
Daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Connor Keating, she is survived by her husband of 59 years, T. Coerte Hutchinson; two sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. Peter C. and Debra Hutchinson of Pottstown, Pa., and Ridgeley G. and Lynn Hutchinson of Lambertville; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Margaret Keating of Grafton, Mass.; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Pennington Presbyterian Church, 13 S. Main St., Pennington.
Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
