Joseph DiMeglio Jr.

Princeton University employee for 25 years

   LAWRENCE — Joseph DiMeglio Jr., 56, died Wednesday at home.
   Born in Princeton, he resided in West Windsor before moving to Hamilton and then Lawrence in 2004.
   He was a 1970 graduate of Princeton High School.
   He was married for 29 years to the former Kathy DiAntonio and together they raised their three children.
Mr. DiMeglio was employed by Princeton University for about 25 years, the majority of which he spent in the plumbing shop. Prior to entering the plumbing shop, his favorite job at Princeton, as a landscaper, was perfecting the splendor that is Prospect Gardens.
   He was an avid fisherman, exceptional gardener, and comical artist.His family will remember him for his strength, ceaseless work ethic and gentleness.His passion was expressed through his landscapes. He was determined to make the world beautiful for everyone he loved, as his grandfather before him did.
   He is survived by his companion, Cynthia Keith of Lawrence; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Mark Such of Hamilton Square; a daughter, Claudia DiMeglio and partner A.J. Romano of Philadelphia; a son, Joseph DiMeglio of Burlington Township; a grandson, Luciano Romano of Philadelphia; his parents, Joseph DiMeglio Sr. and Barbara (Tash) DiMeglio of West Windsor; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Thomas Fowler of Raleigh, N.C., and Pamela and George Schultz of West Windsor; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
   Calling hours will be held today, Friday, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Ave., Princeton.
   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. today, Friday, at St. Paul’s Church, 214 Nassau St., Princeton. Burial will follow at Princeton Cemetery.
