Sam and Frank Domenico, both 18, of Branchburg; Jeffrey Kinkead, 18, of Neshanic Station; John Tauscher, 20, of Pierson Drive; and Adam Weinstein, 18, of Branchburg; were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop for a broken headlight on New Amwell Road at 12:33 a.m. Aug. 8.
Mr. Tauscher, who was driving the vehicle, was also charged with improper maintenance of lamps and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle.
The five were taken into custody after police found rolling papers, several Ziploc bags, a small cigar and cigar shavings in the vehicle.
Police said Mr. Kinkead swallowed marijuana that was in the vehicle when police approached, and Mr. Kinkead was also charged with obstruction.
Police said officers also found five steak knives in the vehicle, which Mr. Tauscher said were put in his car by a friend who had stolen them from Applebee’s.
Mr. Tauscher was later charged with receiving stolen property after the knives were returned to the restaurant.
The men were all processed and released.
A Bradford Court resident reported that someone stole a suitcase filled with clothes, a digital camera and camera accessories that had been left in her vehicle when it was parked in her driveway between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. June 22.
The items were valued at a total of $1,322.
Christian Graverson, 30, of Amwell Road, was charged with driving while intoxicated after he was stopped for driving 61 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone on Amwell Road at 12:45 a.m. Aug. 24.
The other charges issued were not included in the police report.
Police said they also observed Mr. Graverson drifting over the double yellow line and into the shoulder, in addition to throwing a lit cigarette out his vehicle window.
Mr. Graverson was taken into custody after he failed several field sobriety tests. At police headquarters, he was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.17 percent.
New Jersey state law defines a BAC of 0.08 percent or higher as intoxicated.
Mr. Graverson was processed and released.
A worker with Alcoa Concrete, of Pennsylvania, said someone stole 34 aluminum concrete forms, each measuring 3-by-9 feet, from a construction site on Todd Street sometime between 2 p.m. Aug. 12 and 9 a.m. Aug. 13.
The forms were valued at $300 each, for a total of $10,200.
Police said there was also a dent in the engine door of the company’s excavator, which the worker estimated had come from people using it to load the forms onto a flatbed.
The cost of repairing the dent was estimated at between $500 and $700.
A Nostrand Road resident reported that someone stole her laptop computer and printer from her vehicle either while it was parked at her home or in the parking lot of the New Center Village Green Shopping Center, sometime between 3:15 p.m. Aug. 9 and 9:30 a.m. Aug. 11.
The resident reported that she noticed a door on her dashboard open and some change scattered in the vehicle.
The computer was valued at $1,347.10, and the printer was valued at $110.
Christopher Ruggieri, 19, of Polhemus Drive, was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana after the vehicle in which he was a passenger was pulled over on Route 206 because the front headlight was not working at 11:34 p.m. Aug. 25.
Matthew Lombard, 19, of Meadowbrook Drive, who was driving the vehicle, was charged with improper maintenance of lamps. He was released at the scene.
Mr. Ruggieri was taken into custody after police found a container of marijuana under his seat.
Mr. Ruggieri was processed and released on his own recognizance.
A Marlborough Commons resident reported that someone scratched the front passenger door of her vehicle with an unknown object while it was parked at her home sometime between 12 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Sept. 2.
The damage was valued at $2,000.
Jeremy Davison, 19, of Zion Road, was charged with underage consumption of alcohol after he was found leaving the scene of a party on Merritt Drive, about which a noise complaint had been filed at 10:55 p.m. Aug. 21.
Police said they found Mr. Davison walking on Merritt Drive after about 15 people had dispersed from the property when police approached.
Mr. Davison was processed and released to the custody of a friend.
George Murphy Jr., 24, of Hampton, was charged with the theft of a street sign from the corner of Wertsville Road and Amwell Road at 6:12 p.m. Aug. 31.
The sign was valued at $75, and was returned to the township’s Department of Public Works.
Mr. Murphy was taken to Somerset County Jail with bail set at $2,500 with a 10 percent option. He was released to the custody of his girlfriend after she posted the $250 bail.
