Mr. Plans, 69, of Monroe, died Sept. 8, 2008, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He served Monroe as a member of the Board of Education, a Democratic committeeman, a fire commissioner and chairman of the Zoning Board of Adjustment for more than 20 years. Surviving are his wife, Norma C. Blumberg Plans; a son, Jason, and his wife, Lori, and a daughter, Rachel Weiss, and her husband, Jonathan, all of West Chester, Pa.; his mother-in-law, Irene Blumberg of Monroe; a brother, Barry, and his wife, Regina, of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services were held at Temple B’nai Shalom, East Brunswick. Interment was in Floral Park Cemetery, South Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Temple B’nai Shalom or Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Foundation.
