Police blotter

   Edward Tammaro, 47, of Somerville, was charged with driving while intoxicated and careless driving after police pulled him over for making a left turn onto Amwell Road when he was not clear to do so and swerving toward oncoming traffic at 12:24 p.m. Sept. 1.
   Mr. Tammaro was taken into custody after he failed several field sobriety tests. At police headquarters, he was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.20 percent, police said.
   New Jersey law defines a BAC of 0.08 percent or higher as intoxicated.
   Mr. Tammaro was processed and released to the custody of a friend.
   Dawn Lewis, 41, of Amwell Road, was charged with driving while intoxicated and careless driving after police found her in the right lane of Triangle Road with a flat tire and no hazard lights on at 1:01 a.m. Aug. 27.
   Police said they also noticed a bent left front rim and dented left rear rim, in addition to fresh scrape marks on the hubcap of the vehicle. Police said it appeared Ms. Lewis had struck the curb near the Hillsborough Middle School, on Triangle Road, but Ms. Lewis said she did not hit anything.
   Ms. Lewis was taken into custody after she failed several field sobriety tests. At police headquarters, she was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.15 percent, police said.
   Ms. Lewis was processed and released to the custody of a friend.
   William Metaxas, 50, of Neshanic, was charged with driving while intoxicated and speeding after police pulled him over for driving 61 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone on Amwell Road at 2:57 a.m. Aug. 23.
   Mr. Metaxas was taken into custody after he failed several field sobriety tests. At police headquarters, he was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.12 percent, police said.
   Mr. Metaxas was processed and released to the custody of a friend.
   Ellen Pinkus, 42, of Somerset, was charged with driving while intoxicated after she was pulled over for crossing over the double yellow line on Route 206 at 3:39 p.m. Sept. 3.
   Ms. Pinkus was taken into custody after she failed several field sobriety tests. Police said Ms. Pinkus admitted to having taken two muscle relaxers.
   At police headquarters, she was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.00 percent. Ms. Pinkus was then taken to Somerset Medical Center to have blood drawn for testing.
   Ms. Pinkus was processed and released to the custody of her husband.
