MANVILLE — Manville residents Nina Jean Vecchio and Tom Rusowicz were among the nearly 100 area residents who won prizes at the county drawings at the Somerset County 4-H Fair in August.
Despite severe weather conditions on two of the days, visitors enjoyed the displays, learned about the county and entered drawings for prizes donated by local businesses and organizations.”We’re pleased that so many people from our county, neighboring counties and out of state enjoyed this year’s 4-H Fair and made the government tents a destination spot,” said Freeholder Director Peter S. Palmer. “Thanks to the generosity of many, we were able to provide wonderful prizes in our drawings and contests.””The county looks forward to the annual 4-H Fair as a venue for getting the word out about Somerset County’s many programs and services,” he said. “In addition, the public has an opportunity to talk with county employees face-to-face in a relaxed atmosphere.”
Mr. Rusowicz won gift certificates for four tickets to a Somerset Patriots ball game at the Commerce Bank Park in Bridgewater, while Ms. Vecchio won one of 10 certificates good for dinners — she’ll be dining at Spain 92 in Raritan.
