Russ Selger has been with Valley school district 35 years

Russell Selger, a guidance counselor at Timberlane Middle School, will retire Dec. 31.
Mr. Selger has been with the Hopewell Valley school district 35 years.
Mr. Selger was a teacher before switching to guidance counseling many years ago. He also coached basketball at Central High School for a number of years.
The school board voted unanimously Monday night to accept his retirement.
Other personnel moves approved unanimously by the board included:
— Acceptance of the resignation of Toll Gate Grammar School teacher Colleen Smedley, effective Aug. 31.
— Acceptance of the resignation of Graham Bessellieu, technology assistant, effective Aug. 22.
— Appointment of Aida Valcarcel as secretary at Central High School for 2008-2009 at an annual salary of $31,113.
— Appointment of Georgine Johnson as a half-time special education teacher at Toll Gate Grammar School for 2008-2009, at an annual salary of $25,505.
— Appointment of Andrew Romanelli as a special education teacher at Central High School for 2008-2009 at an annual salary of $58,090.
