Fall festivals begin Saturday

Two fall festivals are scheduled locally this Saturday, in Bordentown and Crosswicks.
Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 280 Crosswicks Road, Bordentown is hosting its fourth annual Fall Festival Craft Fair and Flea Market from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. All other activities 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Other activities include: air jumper, dunk tank, music, live animals and pony rides, carnival games with prizes, bake sale, food and beverage, etc. Proceeds benefit HCLC Ministries such as the Isaiah Project. The 20th annual Crosswicks Village Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 27.
    A wide variety of activities is scheduled including an antique car display, house tours ($10), vintage 1873 baseball game, book and bake sales, colonial dancers, pony rides, face painting, sand art, silent auction, childrens games, chili tasting contest. Old time corn-husking will be demonstrated. Tiger Town Trio will play Dixieland. A Civil War encampment will be in place. Crafters will exhibit unusual handmade items. Food for all ages all day long. A spaghetti dinner will end the day at the Crosswicks Firehouse ($8 adults).
    The festival is sponsored by Chesterfield Township Historical Society, Crosswicks Community Association, Crosswicks Library, Crosswicks Methodist Church and Crosswicks Fire Company. Information, 609-477-7101.
