Martin T. Gill II, 58, of Lawrenceville, died Sept. 20 at the University Medical Center of Princeton.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., he was a graduate of Neshaminy High School, Langhorne, Pa., Class of 1968. He is an alumnus of Temple University, Philadelphia. He earned his degree from the School of Radio, Television, and Film.
He worked in the journalism industry for over 40 years, beginning as a copyboy at KYW Philadelphia, NJN Public Television and other local affiliated TV networks around the country. For the past 25 years, he was an employee of CBS News in New York City. He had been a producer, assignment editor, news manager and bureau chief in Detroit, Mich., as well as New York City. He received four Emmy Awards in journalistic broadcasting.
He was the son of Martin T. and Helen I. Gill (nee Sakolasky). He is survived by his wife Janet S. (nee Frymire) of 35 years; three children, Hilary F. (nee Meola) and son-in law Joseph A. of Pennington, Colleen M. and Matthew M. Mahmet and Patrick M. and daughter-in-law Elizabeth A. (nee Rogener); and a brother, Charles J. Gill and his wife Sharon L. Prizer of Moorestown.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 26 at the First Presbyterian Church of Ewing, 100 Scotch Road Ewing.
There will be no calling hours.
A private burial will be held at a future date in Grayling, Mich.
