Martin T. Gill

   Martin T. Gill II of Lawrence died Saturday at University Medical Center at Princeton of cancer. He was 58.
   He worked in the journalism industry for over 40 years. His career began as a copyboy at KYW Philadelphia, NJN Public Television and many other local affiliated TV networks around the country.
   For the past 25 years he was employed by CBS News in New York City. He was a producer, assignment editor, news manager and bureau chief in Detroit as well as New York City. He won four Emmy awards in journalistic broadcasting.
   Born in Philadelphia, he was a 1968 graduate of Neshaminy High School, Langhorne, Pa. He earned a degree from the School of Radio, Television and Film of Temple University in Philadelphia.
   He and his family enjoyed summers on the beach in Cape May and Grayling, Mich., where he was an avid sailor on Lake Margrethae. He was a model railroad enthusiast and supported his children’s athletics throughout high school and college, and Big Ten college sports.
   Son of the late Martin T. and Helen I. Sakolasky Gill, he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Janet S. Frymire Gill; daughters and sons-in-law Hilary F. and Joseph A. Meola and Colleen M. and Matthew M. Mahmet; son and daughter-in-law Patrick M. and Elizabeth A. Gill; and brother and sister-in-law Charles J. Gill and Sharon L. Prizer of Moorestown.
   A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church of Ewing, 100 Scotch Road, Ewing.
   A private burial will be held at a future date in Grayling, Mich.
