Mr. Leonardi, 88, of Boca Raton, Fla., whose son lives in Morganville, passed away Sept. 12, 2008, at Care One at Holmdel. He lived in Brooklyn for more than 65 years before moving to Boca Raton, Fla., and then to Morganville earlier this year. Mr. Leonardi was a World War II veteran, a Golden Gloves boxer and a longshoreman in New York before retiring. His wife, Beatrice, died in 2000. Mr. Leonardi is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Vivian of Staten Island, N.Y., Michael and Carol of Morganville and Thomas and Linda of Coral Springs, Fla.; a brother and sister-in-law, Mario and Joanne of Toms River; a sister, Louise Ervay of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Rose Leonardi of Boca Raton, Fla.; and four grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Gabriel’s Historic Church in Marlboro, under the diretion of the Freeman Funeral Home, Manalapan.
